When you’re out grocery shopping this week, can you remember to buy an extra can, box, or bag of non-perishable food? And can you also remember to bring it to church with you this Sunday?
Each Sunday you’ll see a place where we collect these items for our local Senior Friendship Center. Our goal is to collect enough each month to deliver 20 grocery bags to the Center.
We are blessed to be able to say that after our first month we met that goal, and if each member of EPC can remember to bring one item per week, we know that we can keep up this level of assistance to seniors in need in our community. So please remember as you go shopping this week to pick up an extra can, box, or bag of “senior friendly” food, or other necessity, and bring it to church with you.
May your continued generosity and thanksgiving to God in the coming new year be a beacon of light to those in need. (Isaiah 58:9-10; John 13:3) Our next collection day will be on Communion Sunday.
